Update on the coronavirus and vaccines by Premier Alan Winde 14 April 2021

As of 1pm on 14 April, the Western Cape has 2058 active COVID-19 infections with a total of 281 823 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 268 269 recoveries. A total of 53 507 out of the 53 820 vaccines received to date as part of the Sisonke trial, had been administered by 5pm on 13 April.

Digital Press Conference on the health platform and vaccine update

Tomorrow, Premier Winde will host his weekly digital press conference on the health platform and vaccine update where he will be joined by the Provincial Head of Health, Dr Keith Cloete. This will include a briefing on the latest developments regarding COVID-19 as well as vaccinations.

The briefing will take place over Microsoft Teams, where members of the media can join. Members of the public can also join through the livestream on the Premier’s Facebook page. It will begin sharply at 9:30am.
